Nina is still getting over her close call in the sunlight, and she is thankful to Victoria and Luna for saving her. She lives with the two of them underneath the high school, and Victoria has become increasingly protective of her. Nina feels as if she has lost more in Parkers Canyon than she’s gained, but she is trying to remain optimistic and is still friends with Austin. She’s glad to be back on the cheer team, but this time of year has come to be filled with bad memories, especially the loss of her first boyfriend, Lindsey Grant. Still, Nina is trying to move forward, but Madam Lynette’s arrival throws a wrench in her plans.
