"I Saw Goody Osburn with the Devil!"

I Saw Goody Osburn with the Devil!

PLOT

The students attend a cast party at Lilly's in preparation for opening night of The Crucible. Although the party is relatively tame, several students grow closer while others make plans to further their own agendas. The next night, the curtain rises on The Crucible, but the play is disrupted when Mr. Holmes makes his presence more than known. In the aftermath, the students reel from the respective pitfalls they have experienced as danger looms in the future.

  • On February 24th, Luna tosses Forest’s heart on the ground after ripping it out. After expressing disbelief, Emilia announces she is leaving town, claiming she should never have come back. She suggests Victoria leave town as well and walks out the front door.

  • The same night, Torrance approaches the girl being held captive in Richard’s basement. The girl reveals her name is Accalia; she doesn’t remember the events leading to her capture. Torrance attempts to convince her to stay quiet about her kidnapping and insists Richard won’t get away with it. Accalia reluctantly agrees, and Torrance releases her from her chains.

  • Four days later, Emmaleigh is meeting with Sheriff Vincent at the police station. Vincent suspects Forest was a witch and reveals she was killed in the same fashion as the other witches murdered by the serial killer. Her body was found in the woods nailed to a cross and burned to a crisp. Vincent tells Emmaleigh he needs more from her, but she protests that she has helped him enough already. Vincent insists she is going to help him until he says otherwise.

  • The same day, Kayden arrives at CJ’s warehouse with a duffel bag. CJ greets him and shows him to the couch. CJ tells Kayden to make himself at home, and Kayden thanks him for letting him stay for awhile. CJ asks if Kayden needs to talk about anything, but Kayden declines.

  • Ten days later, Dolly is at home with Emmaleigh when there is a knock on the front door. Dolly answers and is surprised to find Oliver waiting with a bag of his things.

  • Tessa and Torrance are getting ready for Lilly’s cast party together at Tessa’s. Torrance expresses that he hasn’t been sleeping much due to everything going on and tells her that he believes Sophia Vincent is a serial killer. He tells her about he and Dolly breaking into the Vincent’s home and finding Sophia’s yearbook.

  • Tessa texts CJ and asks if he is going to Lilly’s party. CJ says he is only going in case trouble arises, but he is going to avoid Luke and Martin at all costs. He tells her to be safe and call if she needs to. Emmaleigh almost reveals she is working with Sheriff Vincent but covers herself; Tessa remains suspicious, however, as they decide to head the party. On the way, Emmaleigh tweets about Forest’s death. She then reveals it to Torrance and Tessa, claiming the Sheriff “knew” they were best friends and questioned her about it. Torrance and Tessa only half-believe her story.

  • Jenny and Lilly are setting up the cast party at Lilly’s house. Lilly asks if Luke is trying to have sex with Jenny, and Jenny claims he is trying to sleep with either herself or Dolly. Lilly jokes that one of them is bound to give in. Jenny changes the subject to Blaise and Julie’s recent romance, and Lilly expresses a slight annoyance regarding their relationship.

  • Dolly immediately questions Oliver about his return. He admits that he missed Dolly and says that his life got complicated, and he didn’t want to drag her down with him. She presses further, and he admits he attacked somebody. Somewhat paranoid, Oliver feels as if somebody is listening to them and takes Dolly to her bedroom. He then admits that he didn’t attack anybody, but that he and his mother were attacked by Mr. Holmes but eventually freed by Kayden, who offered to free them only if they left town and never returned. However, Oliver claims he is tired of running and just wants his family back in Parkers Canyon. He asks to stay at Dolly’s for the time being, and she offers him her couch. Dolly invites him to the party at Lilly’s and leaves to let him get settled in.

  • Austin is getting ready for the party at his home and decides to somehow find out why weird things have been happening in town. He runs into Vernon at the pizzeria. They decide that everyone has been lying to them to protect them, but that they are actually in more danger being in the dark and decide to team up to figure out what is going on.

  • Blaise invites Martin to grab dinner at the pizzeria before the party. They meet up, talk about their respective romances. Vernon invites the two of them to join him and Austin, and they do. After, Austin and Vernon ride to the party together while Blaise and Martin take their own cars.

  • Sophia drags Luke from his room so they can arrive at the party fashionably early. Annoyed, Luke reluctantly complies. As they are backing out of the driveway, Luke almost hits Julie with his car. However, Luke is more concerned about the car than Julie. Still, he offers her a ride to the party.

  • At the party, Chance catches up with Vernon and Austin. Nina asks Victoria if she has heard from Forest. Victoria assures her that she hasn’t and offers that she may show up later with Luna. Blaise and Julie continue to flirt. Luke approaches Tessa and suggestively mingles with her as Jenny and Lilly watch on, with the former insisting she isn’t jealous. Nina continues to ask if anybody has seen Forest, while Martin and Sophia flirt on the couch.

  • After telling his father he is studying at Blaise’s all night, Robby arrives at the party, and Jenny approaches him and mentions seeing his father's positive polling for Mayor of Parkers Canyon. Julie and Lilly discuss their respective romantic lives, and Lilly admits that Julie and Blaise together works.

  • Vernon questions Torrance and Luke about the strange events in town, and Torrance claims Mercury is in retrograde while Luke suggests his father has a promising lead regarding the murders. Nina gets emotional thinking about Lindsey and Forest, and Austin consoles her.

  • In the bathroom, Victoria expresses worry to Tessa about Nina finding out Forest is dead. Dolly arrives and tells Jenny and Robby about Oliver’s surprise visit. Julie half-apologizes to Lilly for her role in Lilly’s shooting and reveals Chance fired the shot and that she has been somewhat kicked from the Slayers, showing Lilly the burn Mr. Holmes inflicted on her. Sophia and Martin begin to makeout on the couch.

  • In a flashback, Sophia is shown at a party in Santa Clarita. Clearly beyond drunk, she is approached by a guy named Todd who leads her upstairs. He mentions that Noah, the party host, said they could use his bedroom. Sophia is confused by his wording. Todd manages to force himself onto Sophia. Downstairs, the music blares and drowns out Todd’s screaming.

  • Still at the party, Julie gives Lilly a final warning about Mr. Holmes. After she leaves, Dolly and Jenny approach her and give her the news about Oliver. Julie apologizes to Luke for the car ordeal, but he shrugs it off and asks her about Blaise.

  • Remembering Noah’s party and her sexual assault, Sophia stops her makeout session with Martin and excuses herself to the bathroom.

  • Vernon confides in Torrance that he is open to the idea of love and mentions he is interested in Dolly; Torrance offers to talk Vernon up to Dolly, and Vernon thanks him. They decide to approach Dolly and Lilly, and Vernon awkwardly attempts to flirt with Dolly. Oliver settles in at Dolly’s and heads to Lilly’s party.

  • Luke mentions the #BetterLuckNextTimeEmmaleigh note to Emmaleigh, and she plays it off as a threat against her life. Luke plays along and then mentions that his father is keeping an eye on her. He suggests he will convince his father to lay off of her, but only on the condition that they have sex, which she actually agrees to.

  • Vernon admits to Dolly that he likes her as Hadley busts into the party and announces her arrival. Dolly isn’t very receptive, and Vernon apologizes for being too upfront; Dolly assures him he doesn’t have to apologize and blames her reaction on the strange day she has had.

  • Torrance and Sophia mingle together, and Torrance lowkey hints that he hopes Sophia is a normal girl and not a serial killer. She assures him that she is no such thing. Jenny, Lilly, and Tessa discuss Oliver’s return as he arrives at the party; Oliver is mumbling along to the music, unsure about engaging socially. Nina and Austin slow dance together, and Nina tells Austin that she is always there for him.

  • Dolly overhears Torrance thinking about Richard kidnapping Accalia, but she doesn’t get too many details. Oliver notices Dolly talking to Vernon and goes outside for some fresh air, deciding he shouldn’t be upset over who Dolly talks to. Luke changes his mind about having sex with Emmaleigh, and she asks if he will still protect her from his father. However, he tells her she is on her own.

  • Sophia texts and apologizes for abruptly leaving Martin and assures him it was because of her, not him. Accalia arrives to the party, and Jenny and Tessa agree that they both have no idea who she is. Tessa teases Luke about turning down sex with Emmaleigh, and they share a sexually-charged conversation.

  • At CJ’s warehouse, Kayden vows revenge against his father.

  • Oliver goes back inside and runs into Accalia while getting himself another drink; they bond over both being “new” to Parkers Canyon. She asks him about Torrance, and he tells her to be careful what she says around him, explaining that Torrance is the gossip queen and head of the Newspaper. Torrance notices Accalia and curses under his breath.

  • After some convincing from Sophia, Torrance finds Accalia and tries to explain the situation with Richard. She is hesitant to hear him out, but Torrance reminds her that he is the one who freed her. He also questions her about what she really is, but she dodges and walks away. Torrance reveals to her that he knows about the supernatural, especially werewolves. He believes that Richard might have a vendetta against the werewolves of Parkers Canyon, and due to Lindsey and Tessa both being werewolves, he wants to stop whatever Richard might have in mind. Accelia denies his help and demands he just leave her alone. Still, Torrance promises her he will stop Richard, no matter what.

  • Meanwhile, Nina and Austin skinny dip and dream of changing the past. Emmaleigh and Dolly discuss Forest’s death and are soon joined by Sophia; Emmaleigh tells her they were just talking about nipple piercings as a cover. When Luke gets brought up, Sophia tells Dolly she would totally be okay with Luke and Dolly dating, or at least hooking up, which Dolly swears is never going to happen.

  • While texting Luke, Tessa bluntly asks if he wants to hook up. Confused, he finds her at the party and asks how drunk she is. Tessa explains that she’s not drunk at all, just bored and looking for an outlet. Having not had sex since she was turned, she is reluctant to be with a human until she can control herself. Luke agrees to help her and they begin to makeout, but he reluctantly stops himself. He confesses that Tessa is one of his only friends in town and doesn’t want to risk hurting her. She swears she won't get hurt, but Luke persists, claiming he knows she will thank him tomorrow.

  • A bit later, Lilly and Jenny sit around a small fire outside and are soon joined by Oliver, who they haven’t seen since his return. They chat about what Oliver missed, and Lilly asks what he had to disappear for, and he says it was just personal business. The conversation soon turns to Dolly, and the girls convince him to stop talking to them and actually find Dolly so they can catch up. When he eventually does find her, she is with Luke, who soon senses the tension between the pair and leaves, coming across an eavesdropping Lilly and Jenny. After Luke has left, Oliver finally asks Dolly where they stand in their relationship. Dolly says their relationship ended when he decided to skip town. The pair decides just to wait and see what happens before they decide their status.

  • Nearing the end of the night, Accalia makes her way outside trying to get some space. Despite this, Marc finds her on the steps and introduces himself. After chatting for awhile, Marc spots Sophia and calls her over. They slightly discuss Torrance's strange fascination with Accalia. Tessa leaves the party early, and on her way home CJ climbs down from his spot across from Lilly’s and joins her. He asks about her attempts to control her “wolf stuff”. She admits that she tried his method and made out with someone at the party, but she doesn’t think it helped at all. CJ reassures her that every wolf is different and that what works for him probably won't work for her. Before going their separate ways, they vent on how weird their relationship has become.

  • The next morning, Rye texts CJ asking to talk in person. They meet at the basketball court and Rye tells him he has joined a pack, though he never reveals who's pack. CJ is understanding; he can’t be the leader the other werewolves want him to be. He does warn Rye to stay safe though, not knowing Rye has joined Martin’s pack.

  • Everyone gets ready for school. On the way to school, Dolly reveals why Oliver was really gone to Jenny and Lilly, and Lilly tells them about Julie’s confession.

  • In homeroom, Dolly passes out from a violent vision. She sees a body being dragged through the woods and the school’s stage in flames. CJ immediately comes to Dolly’s aid and instructs everyone to keep calm and give her space. Once she is awake, everyone’s attention is directed elsewhere. Martin follows CJ into the hallway and asks for a word. CJ, a bit standoffish, agrees. Martin gives him an ultimatum: CJ joins his pack...or else. CJ is unfazed and tells Martin to back off. Luke reminds Rye who his pack is after Rye tries to stand up for CJ; he even suggests having Martin get rid of Robby. Rye totally considers it for a second but decides that if Jenny wants Robby she can have him.

  • At lunch, the witches discuss re-forming a circle. Sophia reveals to Martin that she is a succubus. Dolly finds out about Richard kidnapping Accalia, from Torrance's thoughts, though he tries to deny it at first. After opening up to her about the situation, Torrance asks if Dolly could remove Richard’s memories of being a slayer, but Dolly doesn’t think she could ever do that to someone again. Richard finally arrives at school. He finds Torrance and tries to explain his side of the story, and Torrance doesn’t believe any of it. They totally cause a scene, to say the least. Emmaleigh reveals to Lilly that Sheriff Vincent knows all about Issa and witches in general. They decide to investigate Daddy Vincent.

  • Near the end of lunch, outside the cafeteria, Rye questions Jenny about Dolly's fainting episode. She explains that she is psychic and had a vision in the classroom. When Rye asks Jenny what the vision was of, she realizes that Dolly never actually told her.

  • In the cafeteria, Dolly apologizes to Vernon for blowing him off earlier. The two of them flirt while Austin observes. Soon, Austin leaves to give them more privacy, and Dolly asks Vernon out on an actual date-- he accepts. Lilly and Emmaleigh hatch a plan to put a spell on Hadley. While Lilly searches for a spell, Emmaleigh tries to dig up dirt from Sheriff Vincent’s past. They confront Hadley in the hallway, but she is unphased by the duo.

  • Luna hints to Oliver that she knows his secret. Before he can freak out, she hints that she is supernatural, too. Eventually, after playing a guessing game, he learns she is a vampire. In the hallway, Marc gives CJ shit about opening night. CJ laughs it off and then explains Dollys fainting in the classroom. He asks Marc to be careful at the show that night and to be ready in case anything goes down

  • Torrance and Richard fight about Richard having kidnapped Accalia. Torrance forgives him after listening to his explanation: Accalia attacked him during the full moon. He subdued her and locked her in the basement to prevent her from hurting anyone else. When Torrance asks Richard to clear up any other secrets between the two of them, Richard reveals to him that he killed Tyler the night of the full moon. This doesn’t bother Torrance.

  • The bell rings dismissing everyone from school. Dolly meets up with Jenny and Rye outside, soon joined by Marc. After Jenny confesses about telling Rye that Dolly is psychic, Dolly explains her vision to the group. Marc and Rye tell Dolly she has to say something and stop the play, but Dolly is convinced any attempt would be in vain.

  • Emmaleigh and Lilly decide to go to the Sheriff's station to confront “Daddy Vincent”. They get nowhere and decide to leave as the play is starting soon

  • Everyone arrives at the play: the cast is backstage getting ready as attendees fill the auditorium and take their seats. In the audience, Marc worries about the events Dolly foresaw. Mrs. Espinosa assigns Tessa to be the new stage director in Emilia’s absence.

  • Before the start of the play, Sheriff Vincent, Mr. Korden, and Mr. Holmes arrive, taking their respective seats in the audience. Hadley suddenly disappears from the auditorium and winds up in an abandoned building on the outskirts of town. Lilly, as her substitute, fills the lead role; although, Mrs. Espinosa claims to not know who she is.

  • Mrs. Espinosa begins to drink heavily as the play begins, thinking it is going to be a total disaster. The students take the stage as Tessa organizes everyone in the back; Luke is disappointed about this, having come with the intention of hanging with Tessa. Dolly tells Torrance about her future date with Vernon. Austin and Nina watch the play together.

  • Before Act II, Tessa reminds Rye backstage to kiss Lilly now, instead of the missing Hadley. Sophia compliments Lilly’s acting, and she reciprocates. However, on stage Rye proclaims his love for Jenny and kisses her in front of the audience and Robby. Jenny rushes off stage. Sophia abruptly drops the curtain.

  • During intermission, Espinosa berates Rye for his actions and tasks Tessa with keeping a close eye on him. Mr. Holmes spots Julie on the edge of the stage and gives her a wink, leaving his seat and making his way to the back of the auditorium. Torrance tells Dolly that Accalia is a wolf. Luke goes to sit with Oliver as the lights begin to malfunction and shut off.

  • A single spotlight hits the stage and illuminates Emilia as she falls from the ceiling; she is hanging by a rope, and her mouth is taped shut. Unseen by others, Mr. Holmes stands at the back of the auditorium and readies an arrow on his quiver. The arrow shoots like lightning across the auditorium and strikes Emilia in the chest, and her body erupts into flames.

  • Panic ensues as some of the students attempt to help Emilia down, to no avail. Sheriff Vincent urges Luke to remove Sophia from the auditorium. The fire spreads on the curtains. Dolly and Torrance try to find Marc and Lilly backstage, but Torrance slips and falls in a puddle. Dolly turns on her phone light, and they notice Torrance has slipped in blood. Vincent, Tessa, Vernon, Marc, and Lilly happen upon Torrance and Dolly, and they all follow the trail of blood to Mrs. Espinosa’s body; her throat has been slit. Julie knows in her gut that Holmes is behind the attack.

  • The police arrive and begin taking statements from the students. Austin comforts Nina. Rye apologizes to Jenny. Marc criticizes Dolly for never using her psychic abilities to stop trouble. Torrance and Tessa also deduce that Holmes is behind the attack; Torrance comes clean about Richard kidnapping Accalia and decides Richard isn’t a bad guy. Richard visits the site of Elijah’s burning, but he finds no trace of the killer.

  • Vernon, Chance, and Nina stay over at Austin’s. Lilly stays over at Marc’s. Luke walks Dolly home. Torrance stays over at Tessa’s.

  • In another flashback, Sophia returns to Noah’s house and confronts him about his knowledge of her rape before-the-fact. She seduces and kills him, climbing off his body crying.

  • In a montage, Dolly texts Vernon about their date. Nina reminisces about Forest and Elijah. Victoria reminisces about Emilia until Luna calls her to bed. Robby and Jenny fight about the Rye kiss. Rye joins Tessa on her wolf run through the woods. Vincent trashes his desk as Luke and Sophia settle in for the night. Hadley is still making her way home from the abandoned warehouse. Lilly pulls away from Marc in her sleep. Accalia admires the progress of her healing. Torrance stares at the basement Richard kept Accalia in before joining him in bed.

  • The next day, Mr. Holmes introduces Chance to the Thunderstone, which he has crafted into a handful of dangerous arrows. Chance follows Mr. Holmes outside; Holmes aims a thunderarrow at the sky and releases; thunder cracks and lightning breaks across the sky, breaking the sun spell cast over Parkers Canyon.
